  • the good old days of true worship!!!

tim hughes - jesus, you alone

to your throne i bring devotion
may it be the sweetest sound
lord this heart is reaching for you now

so i set my sights upon you
set my life upon your priase
    never looking to another way

you alone will be my passion
jesus you will be my song
you will find me longing after you

    don't live life strong
    ... but live life surrendered

  • on the other note. there has been a stirring of the holy spirit. just a thought to keep in mind.

    God's working hard yet calmly.

just a little thing to get everyone fired up in what being a child of God is. not a christian, but a child of God.

When I say “I am a Christian,” I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost," now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say “I am a Christian,” I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need CHRIST to be my guide.

When I say “I am a Christian,” I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need HIS strength to carry on.

When I say “I am a Christian,” I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say “I am a Christian,” I'm not claiming to be perfect.
My flaws are far too visible but,God believes I am worth it.

When I say “I am a Christian,” I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches so I call upon His name.

  • humans are quite the destructive power. we were once perceived as the socialist community bent on a better world through the human inclination to band as one. this is not so anymore. thanks to locke, adams, jefferson, burr, and many conservative liberalists (neocons and neorealists) we have turned towards competition and a "stong-vs-weak" emporium. what is this rapid growth of capitalism in a world so divided in the first place? whatever happened to caring for the innocent and the poor beggar on the streets? the lame walks with a limp dependent on the self-reliance of diligence and determination. yes, this does sound like the heroic, herculean feat as it is, but where is the offering of help and care towards the lames of today? is our only resolution to take from the poor and make the rich richer? bomb the infedels, rape the inferior, plunder the just?

is money, for lack of better words, that much more important? christendom came upon the byzantine empire like a flood over a valley. we need this same revival of rebirth and reconstitution of our liberal-based society. we don't need the church and state separate from each other. what we need is the rebuilding of solomon's temple in a symbolic gesture of reintroduction of a faith-based community. it's not pacifism anymore. it's not war anymore. we all need a jihad. i'm not referring to the external, suicide-bombing, radical islamists, but to a gentler more rigorous struggle within oneself to fight temptations. what temptations are we talking about? those that we, warriors of God, face daily! it seems the world is so prone to seeing the negatives of everything therefore making internal struggle futile.

well, what about refocusing our sights on the positives of the world. where is the news about the districts in southern iraq which are now getting power and water? where is the news about the U.S. forces bringing back the flow of the mighty tigris-euphrates to the southern irrigation plains to the iraqis? what about the downfall of a suppressive regime that was once the nation of iraq? how about, instead of blaming george bush for the war in iraq, we start blaming the clinton administration too? anyone remember the iraq liberation act of 1998? everybody, wake up and stop concentrating on the things pessimists say. have we become that perverted and twisted that we only revel in the three laws of media, sex/blood/guts?

before we change the views on the world, we should change the values that we hold dear.
